How this is made

Most brands will not tell you which factory made your clothes. I can, because there is one factory and one run.

The factory

Every ManEmy garment is cut and sewn by Niki Confezioni, Via Loss 22, Granella di Tezze sul Brenta, in the province of Vicenza, in the Veneto. They have been making garments there since 1982.

They are a small operation and they work in Italy, under Italian and EU labour law. I chose them after losing money on a first attempt at this business, and I pay more to make it there than I would almost anywhere else. That is the whole point.

The set

Fibre	100% cotton. No synthetic blend.
Top	16/1 combed cotton jersey, 230 GSM, dyed after it is sewn.
Trouser	300 GSM cotton. Cream dyed after sewing, black piece dyed with reactive colour.
Finishing	Garments are shrunk after dyeing at 90C.
Embroidery	Tonal ME monogram. Black thread on cream, satin gold on black, matched to the approved samples.
Run	100 sets per colorway. 200 sets in total.
Restock	None. When the run is gone it is gone.
Sold	Direct only, at manemy.com. $350 the set.

The monogram

ManEmy is my two daughters. Maneh and Emily. Man from the first, Emy from the second. That is the whole name, there is nothing clever behind it.

The mark on every garment is their initials, M and E, drawn as a single monogram. Look at it closely and the full word is inside the two letters. ManEmy is drawn into the mark itself. It is embroidered tonal and small, in thread matched to the fabric, because it is not there to be a logo across your chest. It is there because it is their name.

Certification

The trouser fabric is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 under certificate 24.HTR.43523, issued by Hohenstein Laboratories, valid until 30 November 2026. It sits in Product Class I, which is the class written for baby articles and the strictest one the standard has. It means the fabric was tested for harmful substances against the tightest limits OEKO-TEX applies.

That certificate belongs to my fabric supplier, not to me. I can tell you the fabric is certified. I am not allowed to put the mark on my clothes, and I have not.

What I do not claim

• The cotton is conventional. It is not certified organic and I will not imply it is.
• The top fabric is certified upstream, confirmed in writing by my supplier. I am waiting on the certificate number and class before I publish them here, and they will go on this page when they arrive.
• Made in Italy means cut and sewn in Italy. It does not mean the fabric was made there, and I will not imply that it was.
• This is my first production run. There are no customer reviews yet and no long term wear data. That comes with time and I am not going to fake it.

Why this page exists

I spent about 30,000 dollars on a first version of this business that did not work, selling generic product I could not tell you anything about. The reason ManEmy exists is to be the opposite of that. One factory, named. One run, counted. One fibre, no blend.
